Professor Pierre Marie ALLIOUX
Methods Lectures, Seminar, Practical work, Independent-study, e-learning
  30 hours
Prerequisites ELE 309 (A21) and ELE 313 (A22) : Bases of the theory of the determinist and random signals
ECTS 5

This class aims to introduce student engineers to the operation in a digital transmission chain by studying the
digital modulations properties, its spectra and behavior with noise. This module constitutes an introduction to the options "signal and picture treatment" and "communications with cellular phones".

- Presentation of the different blocks in a complete chain of data transmission.
- Digital communications: Data transmission in baseband, study of some binary codes
and their spectra, flow, modulation rate, symbols and alphabet, interferences,
intersymbol, criterion of Nyquist. Transmission on carrier wave, channel capacity,
frequency, phase, amplitude modulation (MAQ) (PSK) (FSK), demodulation, effect
of a Gaussian white noise, error probability.

Individual global synthesis of the Unit of Value: coefficient 2
Individual control: coefficient 1
